Print the following forms and take them with you to the put-in:

  1. RMSKC Membership Roster, which you will receive from the Paddling Coordinator prior to the trip.

  2. RMSKC Membership Application Form 

  3. ACA  Adult Membership Form/Waiver & Release of Liability 

  4. ACA Minor Membership Form/Waiver & Release of Liability

  5. ​ACA Incident/Accident Report Form

As a reminder:

  • The Paddling Coordinator needs to submit your trip to the ACA at least 72 hours prior to the trip.

  • The Trip Organizer needs to validate that the RMSKC membership, ACA membership and ACA signed waiver are all current for each registered participant.  

  • Any non-ACA member who attends must complete the ACA Membership Form/Waiver & Release of Liability (adult or minor) and submit the $10 ACA fee.

  • Any person who has a current ACA membership but is not a member of RMSKC does not need to pay the $10.  However, the trip leader must verify that their ACA membership and waiver is active.  

  • ​There is no charge for land-only guests but they must still complete the ACA Membership Form/Waiver & Release of Liability (adult or minor).  

Post Trip Reporting

We have to report to the ACA all persons participating in an activity/event in order to meet ACA insurance requirements.  Therefore, within five days of completing your activity/event, please email to the Paddling Coordinator:

  • a list of participating RMSKC members.
  • a list of participating non-RMSKC members but who are ACA members and their ACA membership number.
  • RMSKC Annual Membership Application forms if any.
  • ACA Membership Form/Waiver & Release of Liability  (adult or minor) forms if any, and collected fees.  

Injury/Accident Reporting

If a serious injury occurs, call the ACA insurance company hotline at 1-800-566-7491 (open 24 hours a day) as quickly as possible to report the incident.  Also call and inform Paddling Coordinator. After the trip, complete an ACA Incident/Accident Report Form and send it to the Paddling Coordinator immediately as the Paddling Coordinator must forward it to the ACA within 24 hours of receipt.

Thank you for organizing a Rocky Mountain Sea Kayak Club trip.  Please review the Trip Organizer  Guidelines about planning and executing an RMSKC trip.  Contact the Paddling Coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.

Our Club and ACA policy is that only current RMSKC/ACA members or guests who sign the the ACA event waiver and pay the fee are allowed on club day paddles; Only current RMSKC/ACA members are allowed on multi-day paddles.  You should be prepared, if necessary, to refuse participation in an on-water event for insurance and safety compliance and you will have the Steering Committee's full support.
